What Is Ignition Coil F Primary Secondary Circuit Diagram

When it comes to car maintenance, one of the most important components is the ignition coil. The ignition coil is responsible for supplying the spark plug with intense electrical energy and helps create an efficient combustion in the engine. But how does this all work? To understand the full function of the ignition coil, we must look into its primary and secondary circuit diagrams.

The primary circuit of the ignition coil is responsible for providing power to the ignition coil and is connected to the battery. From the battery, the power flows through the ignition switch and then directly to the primary winding of the ignition coil. The primary winding has a high resistance, so the voltage from the battery drops significantly by the time it reaches the secondary winding.

The secondary circuit of the ignition coil is responsible for generating the high voltage necessary to ignite the fuel/air mixture. It consists of the secondary winding of the coil, the distributor, and the spark plug. When the primary winding is energized, a strong electric field is created in the secondary winding. This electric field induces a high voltage that can reach up to tens of thousands of volts. This voltage is then sent through the distributor to the spark plug, which provides the spark necessary to ignite the fuel/air mixture.

The ignition coil is an essential part of the engine, and understanding its primary and secondary circuit diagrams is key to maintaining it. The primary circuit is responsible for providing power to the ignition coil, while the secondary circuit is responsible for generating the high voltage needed to create the spark that eventually ignites the fuel/air mixture. With a thorough understanding of the ignition coil’s function, mechanics are able to keep their engines running smoothly and efficiently.
